For general environments, choose Q235 or 20# carbon steel for low cost and ease of processing. For corrosive environments, select 304/316L stainless steel or galvanized pipes. For high temperature and pressure, use alloy pipes like 15CrMo or 12Cr1MoV.

Quality is detected by checking for surface cracks, folds, or scars and ensuring uniform wall thickness. Non-destructive testing includes ultrasonic (UT) and eddy current (ET) detection for internal defects. Pressure tests involve water pressure (e.g., 10MPa for 5 minutes) to ensure no leakage.

For short-term transportation, pipes can be naked in dry environments or covered with waterproof cloth in humid conditions. For long-term storage, keep them in a dry warehouse, at least 20cm from the ground, and regularly check for surface rust, re-oiling if necessary.
