AISI 4140 Steel Solid Steel Round Bar

Forging transforms solid metal from one shape to another through plastic forming (hot or cold), while casting transforms liquid metal into a solid shape by pouring it into a mold. Forging improves mechanical properties, whereas casting focuses on melting and molding.

High-quality forgings are selected through external observation (checking dimensions, surface defects like cracks or wrinkles) and internal testing (analyzing chemical composition, structure, and mechanical properties like tensile strength and hardness using specialized instruments).

The process includes pier roughening, elongation, punching, and expanding. Free forging uses a horse screw for expanding holes, while ring rolling uses rolling. Both methods transform solid metal into specific shapes at high temperatures.

The product uses AISI 4140/45# carbon structural steel, complying with GB/T699-1999, ASTM, AISI, DIN, JIS, and BS standards. It features high hardness, strength, and wear resistance after quenching and tempering.
