Forging transforms solid metal from one shape to another through plastic forming (hot or cold), while casting transforms liquid metal into a solid shape by pouring it into a mold. Forging improves mechanical properties, whereas casting focuses on melting and molding processes.

High-quality forgings are selected through external observation (checking dimensions, surface defects like cracks or bubbles) and internal testing (analyzing chemical composition, microstructure, tensile strength, hardness, and ductility using specialized instruments).

The process includes pier roughening, elongation, punching, and expanding. Free forging uses a horse screw for hole expansion, while ring rolling uses rolling. Both methods ensure the blank meets structural requirements.

The shaft is made from 45# carbon structural steel (equivalent to S45C, 1045, SM45), complying with GB/T699-1999, ASTM, AISI, DIN, and JIS standards. It undergoes quenching and tempering for optimal hardness (25-33 HRC).
