Forging transforms solid metal from one shape to another through plastic deformation, while casting transforms liquid metal into a solid shape by pouring it into a mold. Forging improves mechanical properties through grain structure alignment, whereas casting involves melting and solidification.

High-quality forgings are selected through external observation (checking dimensions, surface defects like cracks or wrinkles) and internal testing (analyzing chemical composition, macroscopic/microscopic structures, and mechanical properties like tensile strength and hardness using specialized instruments).

The process for circular forgings includes pier roughening, elongation, punching, and expanding. Free forging uses a horse screw for hole expansion, while ring rolling uses rolling. Both methods ensure the desired shape and structural integrity.

The product uses 45# structural carbon steel (GB/T699-1999). It has a carbon content of 0.42-0.50%, tensile strength >=600 Mpa, yield strength >=355 Mpa, and elongation >=16%. Equivalent standards include S45C (JIS) and 1045 (AISI).
