Internally, inspections analyze chemical composition, structures, and mechanical properties using high-magnification instruments to check for fractures, shrinkage, or disordered flow lines. Tensile strength, ductility, hardness, and heat resistance are also evaluated.

The process for circular forgings includes pier roughening, elongation, punching, and expanding. Free forging and ring rolling differ mainly in hole-expanding steps: free forging uses a horse screw, while ring rolling uses rolling techniques.
