Forging transforms solid metal into another shape through plastic forming (hot or cold), while casting transforms liquid metal into a solid shape by pouring it into a mold. Forging improves mechanical properties, whereas casting focuses on melting and pouring processes.

Check external appearance for defects like cracks or wrinkles. Internally, analyze chemical composition, macroscopic/microscopic structures, and mechanical properties (tensile strength, hardness, ductility) using specialized instruments to detect internal flaws like shrinkage or dendrites.

The process includes pier roughening, elongation, punching, and expanding. Free forging uses a horse screw for hole expansion, while ring rolling uses rolling. Both methods ensure the metal flows correctly to meet shape and strength requirements.

The material is AISI 4140/45# carbon structural steel. It meets GB/T699-1999, ASTM, AISI, DIN, JIS, and BS standards. It features low price, good cutting performance, and high hardness after quenching and tempering.
