Water Turbine 42CrMo Anti-Fatigue Spindle

Forging transforms solid metal from one shape to another through plastic forming (hot or cold), while casting transforms liquid metal into a solid shape by pouring it into a mold. Forging improves mechanical properties, whereas casting focuses on melting and pouring processes.

High-quality forgings are selected through external observation (checking dimensions, surface defects like cracks or wrinkles) and internal testing (analyzing chemical composition, microstructure, and mechanical properties like tensile strength and hardness using specialized instruments).

The process includes pier roughening, elongation, punching, and expanding. Free forging uses a horse screw for expanding holes, while ring rolling uses rolling. Both methods ensure the metal changes shape at high temperatures.

The spindle is made from 45# carbon structural steel (GB standard), which has 0.42-0.50% carbon content. It offers low price, good cutting performance, and high hardness after quenching and tempering.
