Q:Are oil-immersed transformers only suitable for outdoor use?

No. Oil-immersed transformers can be installed outdoors, indoors and in box substations. With excellent heat dissipation and overload performance, they are widely used in power grid and industrial scenarios, and can work indoors with proper ventilation and fire protection measures.
Q:Is noise during operation of oil-immersed transformers a fault?
A:
Steady and uniform humming sound is normal electromagnetic noise. Sharp abnormal sound, intense vibration and unstable noise indicate abnormal operation caused by core looseness, unbalanced load or abnormal voltage, which requires timely maintenance.
Q:Does transformer oil need regular replacement?
A:
Frequent replacement is not required. It only needs regular quality testing, impurity filtration and dehumidification. Oil replacement is only needed when the oil is severely aged, damp, carbonized or fails insulation standards.
