For standard clear polycarbonate, the industry engineering standard for cold-line bending is a minimum radius of 100 times the sheet thickness. For a 0.8 mm sheet, the minimum bend radius is 80 mm; for a 1.0 mm sheet, it is 100 mm. Forcing smaller radii introduces frozen-in stresses that elevate the risk of environmental stress cracking when exposed to cleaning agents or ambient vibrations.

Polycarbonate can be laser-cut using CO2 lasers; however, unlike acrylic (which leaves a flame-polished, crystal-clear edge), laser cutting polycarbonate above 0.5 mm typically produces a slightly yellow or brownish, carbonized edge due to thermal degradation. For pristine edge finishes, CNC mechanical routing, waterjet cutting, or precision die-cutting is recommended.

We offer dual-side clear/blue PE protective film or heavy-duty craft paper. PE film is recommended for clean-room handling, waterjet cutting, and die-cutting applications because it produces zero paper fiber dust. Craft paper masking provides higher mechanical scratch resistance during heavy CNC routing and rough fabrication transport.
