Q:What is a pneumatic ball valve? What is the difference from an electric ball valve?
A:
A pneumatic ball valve is driven by compressed air to open and close. The difference is: Pneumatic ball valve: faster response, better explosion-proof performance, but requires an air compressor. Electric ball valve: powered by electricity, no air supply needed, but slightly slower in action.
Q:What is the difference between single-acting and double-acting?
A:
Single-acting (spring return): opens with air supply and closes automatically when air is cut off, safer for anti-leakage applications. Double-acting: opens and closes by air supply separately, and stays in position when air is cut off, with greater driving force and faster speed.
Q:Can it open and close automatically? How to control it?
A:
Yes, it can realize automatic switching. It is usually equipped with a solenoid valve; by powering on or off the solenoid valve, the air path is controlled to achieve automatic opening and closing. It can also be remotely controlled via PLC or control panel.
Q:Does it have manual operation function?
A:
Most pneumatic ball valves are equipped with a manual override. In case of power failure, air cut-off or maintenance, the valve can be manually operated with a handle or handwheel for emergency use.
Q:Should the valve body be stainless steel or cast iron? Which is more durable?
A:
Cast iron: lower cost, only suitable for clean water, easy to rust, poor corrosion resistance. Stainless steel (304/316): rust-proof and corrosion-resistant, suitable for water, gas, oil and other media, more durable and longer service life. Stainless steel is strongly recommended for long-term use.
