Direct Fast Turq. Blue Gl Direct Blue 86 Dyes for Viscose Silk

They are the same product with different trade names. Direct Fast Turquoise Blue GL is the commercial name, while Direct Blue 86 is the C.I. generic name (C.I. 74180). Other common names include Solvent Blue 38, Fast Blue MBSN, and Direct Fast Turquoise G.

Main applications include cotton, viscose (rayon), silk, wool, and their blended fabrics. It is also suitable for leather dyeing, paper coloring, and organic pigment lake manufacturing. For polyester/viscose blends, it can be used with disperse dyes in the same bath---polyester fibers show minimal staining.

Key characteristics include vibrant turquoise-blue shades, good water solubility (40 g/L at 60 degree, 80 g/L at 97 degree), and excellent lightfastness (ISO 6-7). However, it has poor exhaustion, leveling, and migration---requires careful temperature control and salt addition during dyeing.

It is a gray-blue to blue powder that dissolves in water to a lake blue solution. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it shows a yellowish-green color that turns to greenish-blue with a blue-green precipitate upon dilution. It is slightly sensitive to hard water.

Immediate fixation is required after dyeing; otherwise, dye migration may cause uneven color (color spotting). After-treatment with fixing agent Y maintains the shade, while fixing agent M or resin finishing shifts the shade towards green.
