Lithol Rubine 4bn Pigment Red 57: 1 for Industrial Coating Plastic Coloring

Main applications include offset inks (sheetfed, heatset, web offset), water-based inks, solvent-based inks, UV inks, news inks, magazine inks, packaging gravure and flexographic inks, industrial paints, powder coatings, water-based decorative paints, plastics including PVC, PP, PS, ABS, EVA, and rubber, textile printing, and artists' colors.

Key fastness properties include heat resistance up to 200-220 degrees C, light fastness Grade 5, water resistance Grade 5, oil resistance Grade 5, acid resistance Grade 2-3, alkali resistance Grade 3, and alcohol resistance Grade 4-5. It offers good migration resistance.

Heat resistance typically ranges from 160-220 degrees C depending on the specific grade. Some grades withstand up to 250 degrees C. It is suitable for PVC, PP, PE, PS, ABS, and EVA applications. However, due to moderate light fastness (Grade 5), it is not recommended for outdoor long-term exposure applications.

Pigment Red 57:1 is a bright bluish-red powder. It is insoluble in cold water and ethanol, but slightly soluble in hot water giving a yellowish-red solution. In concentrated sulfuric acid, it shows a magenta color that remains magenta upon dilution. It offers high color strength, good transparency, and excellent dispersibility.

Pigment Red 57:1 complies with EINECS regulations (No. 226-109-5). Food-grade grades (E 180 Litholrubine BK) are approved as food additives under EU Regulation 231/2012. It also meets EN 71-3 standards for toy safety and various EU regulations for aromatic amine and heavy metal content.
