Polyethylene (PE) offers good resistance to most aqueous solutions, alcohols, dilute acids, and bases. However, they are not recommended for use with strong organic solvents (e.g., hydrocarbons, chlorinated solvents), concentrated oxidizing acids, or hot oils, as these may degrade the plastic.

Our uniform wall thickness ensures consistent structural integrity across every tube. This prevents weak points that could lead to cracking or deformation during mixing, vortexing, or handling, ensuring reliable performance for every sample.

They are excellent for short- to medium-term storage of compatible samples at room temperature or refrigerated conditions. However, since PE is slightly permeable to gases and vapors, it may not be ideal for storing volatile compounds or extremely sensitive samples over very long periods. For long-term archiving, consider tubes made from polypropylene (PP) or glass.
