The main difference lies in armor structure and outer sheath material. VLV is unarmored; VLV22 and VLV23 are both steel tape armored, while VLV22 adopts PVC outer sheath and VLV23 adopts PE outer sheath.

- VLV: Suitable for indoor, tunnel and duct laying. It has no mechanical protection and cannot be directly buried underground, unable to bear external mechanical pressure.
- VLV22: Support direct burial, cable trench and tunnel laying. The steel tape armor resists mechanical compression, ideal for conventional soil and ordinary engineering projects.
- VLV23: Same armored compression resistance as VLV22. The PE outer sheath features excellent low temperature resistance.
