The appropriate frequency depends on the material, shape, required precision, and contaminants. A frequency of 40 kHz is suitable for general-purpose and precision cleaning, including compatible electronic components and PCB assemblies. Higher frequencies are recommended for delicate or high-precision parts.

Ultrasonic waves produce cavitation that loosens contaminants from the surface of the parts, while an appropriate cleaning solution helps dissolve and remove oil, grease, carbon deposits, and other residues. Selecting a solution compatible with the material and contamination can significantly improve cleaning efficiency and results.

Standard benchtop ultrasonic cleaners are usually available from stock and can generally be shipped within five working days for orders of fewer than 100 units.
