Check the battery body voltage. If normal voltage is 3.2V, it is LiFePo4. If 3.6V or 3.7V, it is Li-ion or Li-polymer. You can also ask the battery manufacturer.

Q:Can I use this protection circuit board for my battery?

Ensure the number of cells in series matches your battery pack. Also, confirm the battery material, as LiFePo4 has different electric parameters from other batteries.

Q:Do we need cell balance or not?

Yes, balance is needed because battery cells in a group are not perfectly consistent. Without balance, cell voltages will become inconsistent after charging.
