Product Q&A
Q:Can this lifter handle both steel and plastic drums?
A:
Yes. The mechanical parrot beak jaws are engineered to lock firmly onto the top rim (chime) of standard 55-gallon steel drums as well as L-ring or XL-ring plastic drums that feature a defined, rigid top lifting edge.
Q:Does the operator need to manually lock the jaws onto the drum?
A:
No. The system is completely automatic. The operator simply drives forward until the contoured cradle meets the drum body and the parrot beak rests over the rim. Raising the forklift mast automatically triggers the mechanical grip.
Q:What keeps the drum lifter from sliding off the forklift blades?
A:
The attachment features fully enclosed fork channels. Once slid onto the forks, the heavy-duty rear safety chain is wrapped tightly around the forklifts' vertical carriage or backrest frame, providing a mechanical positive stop.
Q:Can you customize the unit for dual-drum lifting requirements?
A:
Yes. As an OEM manufacturer, we can custom-fabricate dual-head configurations (Double Parrot Beak) to handle two drums simultaneously, as well as modify fork pocket dimensions to fit wider high-tonnage lift truck carriages.
