The wall must be freshly cleaned, free from dust, grease, wax, etc., and thoroughly dried. Acceptable substrates include drywall, plaster, or clean, smooth tile. Any damaged, loose, or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled, and primed. Fill cracks with wallboard compound or spackling and sand smooth. Avoid porous materials like highly textured drywall, raw plywood, or wallpaper unless removed, sanded, and primed to prevent adhesive failure.
