The wall must be freshly cleaned, free from dust, grease, wax, etc., and dried thoroughly. Acceptable substrates include drywall, plaster, or clean, smooth tile. Any damaged, loose, or uneven areas must be repaired, patched, leveled, and primed. Fill cracks with wallboard compound or spackling, then sand smooth. Porous materials like highly textured drywall, raw plywood, or wallpaper must be removed, sanded, and primed to prevent adhesive failure.
