Diaphragm valve is a special type of valve with cutoff function.
Its disc is composed of a diaphragm made of steel disc and soft materials(rubber and fluoroplastic composite),and separate the body inner cavity from the bonnet inner cavity.
When the handwheel is operated clockwise,the stem will move downward,and the disc will drive the diaphragm downward to cut off the passage,otherwise,the valve will open.
The composite membrane separates the lower inner cavity of the body from the inner cavity of the bonnet,and forms a DC channel with it,completely isolating the the stem,disc and other internals
The membrane made of FEP fluoroplastics and synthetic rubber and the valve with a fluoroplastic lining layer can be used for various highly corrosive medium.
As actuator,the diaphragm is prone to fatigue fracture due to frequent opening and closing.Therefore,it should be tested for working conditions,media,and characteristics,and replaced regularly.

Q:What is the maximum temperature resistance of lined PTFE diaphragm valves?

F46 (FEP) lining:-20~150;PFA lining;-20~180; PTFE lining:-20~180.It is recommended to keep a 20-30safety margin.Do not operate continuously at maximum temperature limits.
Q:What media are suitable for lined PTFE diaphragm valves?
A:
Suitable for strong corrosive media such as various strong acids,strong alkalis,strong oxidants and salt solutions.Not applicable for high-temperature molten alkali metals,chlorine trifluoride,liquid fluorine and other aggressive fluorine-based media,nor for services with abundant hard abrasive particles.
Q:Can diaphragm valves be used for flow regulation / throttling?

Throttling is acceptable,but long-term operation at small opening is not recommended.Small-opening service will cause high-velocity local erosion and accelerate diaphragm damage.For frequent modulation,pneumatic lined diaphragm valve with positioner is preferred.
Q:Are lined PTFE diaphragm valves bi-directional sealing?

Weir-type G41F diaphragm valve is uni-directional sealing. Fluid shall enter following the flow mark on valve body.Straight-through full-bore G45F can handle bi-directional flow,yet optimum sealing performance is achieved under marked flow direction.
