Product Q&A

Q:Why does indoor and outdoor high gloss powder tarnish?
A:
Tarnishing is often caused by poor sanitation in the spraying room, spray gun, or fluidizing barrel. Interference from new powder mixed with recycled powder, long storage times, or mixing powders from different manufacturers can also cause light loss. Additionally, volatile gases from nearby paint spraying lines can affect gloss. To fix this, thoroughly clean the environment and equipment, and ensure proper storage.
Q:Why does satin and matte powder have a rising luster?
A:
Matte powder may gain gloss if mixed with high gloss powders or if the curing temperature is too low or time is insufficient. To resolve this, clean the equipment before production and test the furnace temperature to ensure it meets the required curing specifications.
Q:Why does the paint film change color?
A:
Color changes can result from residual pretreatment liquid, excessive baking time or temperature (causing yellowing), mixing different powders, or using pigments/resins not resistant to high temperatures. Solutions include improving the pre-treatment process, strictly following factory curing temperatures and times, strengthening site sanitation, and replacing with qualified powder.
Q:Why are there particle lumps on the coating surface?
A:
Lumps are caused by unclean workpiece surfaces, uneven powder supply, poor spray gun atomization, fine or wet/agglomerated powder, dirty spraying sites, particles in recycled powder, or pollution/dust in the drying channel. Solutions include improving base material quality, adjusting air pressure and deflectors, controlling particle size, preventing moisture, cleaning the site, and properly mixing or replacing recovered powder.
Q:Why are there shrinkage holes on the surface of the film?
A:
Shrinkage holes occur due to inadequate pre-treatment (oil residue), oil or water in compressed air, dust or other impurities, or polluted powder coating. To fix this, strengthen pre-treatment control, regularly check and drain oil/water from air tanks, and thoroughly clean the site and drying channel.
