Self-Supported 80m 100m 120m 200m Span Gyffy Asu Optical Cable

ASU stands for All-dielectric Self-supporting Universal (Single-tube) cable. It is also known as mini ADSS cable - a compact, all-dielectric, self-supporting aerial cable with a central loose tube and twin FRP strength members. It carries its own weight between poles without a messenger wire, and is optimized for short-span FTTH distribution and drop applications (80 m / 100 m / 120 m).

Both are all-dielectric and self-supporting. ASU uses a single central tube, supports 2-24 fibers, spans up to 120-150 m, and costs less; ADSS uses stranded loose tubes, supports up to 144+ fibers and spans of hundreds of meters to 1 km+, and suits backbone/long-haul or river crossings. Rule of thumb: short urban/suburban FTTH spans with pole spacing <=120 m -> ASU; long spans or high fiber counts -> ADSS.

They indicate the maximum designed span in meters - ASU-80/AS80 for spans up to 80 m, ASU-120/AS120 for spans up to 120 m. Please match the rated span to your actual pole spacing; over-spanning creates excess sag and fiber strain.

Standard range is 2 to 24 cores (2/4/6/8/12/24), with 2-12 cores in the most common single-tube configuration. Custom counts within this range are available.

No grounding is required. The cable contains no metal - strength members are FRP and the sheath is dielectric - so it does not conduct, induce current, or attract lightning. This makes it safe to install on the same poles as power lines and in lightning-prone areas, immune to EMI.
