Key features

Slot Density Instead of Airflow: Replacing a multi-slot air cooler with a liquid cold plate frees adjacent slots, so more cards fit in the same chassis.
Machined Copper Contact Face: The die-side surface is CNC-machined and flat across the full contact footprint, then mated per your drawing.
Card-Level Fit: Mounting pattern, port position and hose routing are set from the card geometry you release to us.
Sealing and Geometry Verification: Nitrogen leak and pressure testing available; CMM inspection of mounting geometry per drawing.
Made to Your Drawing: Copper or aluminum, flow path and port layout configured per project - DFM review before quotation.

Product Q&A

Q:Q1. What do you need to quote a cold plate for a professional GPU card?
A:
The card geometry is what we work from: die position and footprint, mounting hole pattern, keep-out zones and board thickness, plus the port position and hose routing your chassis allows. A drawing or 3D model in STEP / IGES / DWG / PDF is the fastest route. If the layout is still open, we can start from heat load per card, coolant type and inlet temperature, and the pressure drop your loop can allow. DFM review is completed before quotation.
Q:Q2. Do you supply the cold plate only, or the mounted card assembly?
A:
Coldwerk delivers at cold plate and component level. Where a project extends to backplate, bracket, hose routing or quick disconnects, project coordination is available and the delivery content is defined per project. Card-level assembly and final electrical validation stay with you as the integrator.
Q:Q3. Why choose liquid cooling for a workstation card that already has an air cooler?
A:
The usual reason is slot density rather than raw heat removal. A multi-slot air cooler occupies neighbouring slots and pushes hot air into the chassis; a cold plate takes the heat out through the loop and frees those slots, so more cards fit in the same enclosure. Noise and inlet-air recirculation are the secondary reasons customers give us.
Q:Q4. How is the flow path closed and sealed?
A:
The closing process is selected per design. In-house processes include CNC machining, skived fin, extruded profile, embedded tube and brazing. Where a design calls for microchannel geometry, friction stir welding or vacuum brazing, these are available for your project and executed at qualified partner facilities within our Dongguan manufacturing base, with Coldwerk retaining engineering review, process selection, inspection and single-point accountability.
Q:Q5. What testing can you provide?
A:
Nitrogen leak and pressure testing and CMM dimensional inspection are carried out in-house. Helium leak testing is available for your project at qualified partner facilities within our Dongguan manufacturing base. Test pressure, hold time and acceptance criteria are set by your drawing or the project test plan rather than by a catalogue figure. Leak testing is performed on the cold plate before it reaches your assembly line, never on a populated card.
