Do you work build-to-print from customer drawings?

Accepted Answer

Yes - build-to-print is Coldwerk's standard mode. Send a STEP, IGES, PDF or DWG file; we review it for manufacturability before quoting and flag tolerance or interface risks early. The design decisions stay with you.

Question 2

We only have operating conditions, not a finished drawing. Can we start?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Send the heat load, coolant type, flow or pressure-drop budget and the installation envelope, and we can start from there. For AI computing and data center projects, we also support customers from board-level cold plates through system-level liquid cooling collaboration.

Question 3

How are our drawings protected?

Accepted Answer

Coldwerk protects customer drawings and project information under NDA. Files are used only for review, quoting and production of your parts, and the design remains your property.

Question 4

Aluminum or copper - how do you choose?

Accepted Answer

By coolant, heat load and the weight and cost limits of your equipment. Aluminum covers most industrial cases; copper is used where higher thermal conductivity justifies it. The choice is confirmed during DFM review, matched to your coolant.

Where are the plates made?

Accepted Answer

At Coldwerk's own machining and assembly facility in Dongguan, China - 2,000 square meters, in operation since 2017. CNC machining, brazing, nitrogen leak testing and CMM inspection are in-house. Factory visits are welcome.

Question 6

We have a validated drawing already in production elsewhere. How do you handle a transfer?

Accepted Answer

As a standard drawing-based project. Your current drawing stays the reference - we confirm material and process fit, machine samples for validation in your own system, and only then move to batch. Fixtures and CMM inspection keep batch parts consistent with the approved sample.

How do samples work?

Accepted Answer

Samples are CNC-machined directly from solid, without tooling, so the design can be validated in your system first. Batch fixtures are made only after sample approval.

Which tests are included?

Accepted Answer

Testing follows the test plan agreed for each project. Coldwerk's in-house capability covers nitrogen leak and pressure testing and CMM dimensional inspection; specific pressures, criteria and reports are defined per drawing.

Which processes do you run in-house, and what is available beyond that?

Accepted Answer

In-house at our Dongguan facility: CNC machining, skived-fin, extruded and embedded-tube cold plate construction, brazing, nitrogen leak and pressure testing, and CMM dimensional inspection.
Also available for your project: microchannel construction, friction stir welding, vacuum brazing and helium leak testing, executed at qualified partner facilities within our Dongguan manufacturing base. Engineering review, process selection and inspection remain with Coldwerk - you deal with one responsible
