Q:What main styles of brace strap are available?
A:
Main style is flat perforated straight strap, angle bent type is also available. Multiple thickness, width and length options. Thicker gauge provides higher tensile strength for heavy duty construction project.
Q:How to select proper thickness for brace strap?
A:
Thinner gauge for light duty timber house and general wall bracing. Heavy gauge for roof wind bracing and lateral force application. Select according to building drawing requirement, do not use undersized items.
Q:Can hole spacing be modified?
A:
Standard products have fixed hole pitch. Custom hole diameter, hole spacing and hole layout are acceptable for special project drawing.
Q:Can brace strap be used if galvanized coating is scratched?
A:
Minor scratch with intact steel substrate is acceptable. Parts with large area coating loss and rust shall not be used for exposed exterior application.
Q:Can brace strap be welded?
A:
Welding is not recommended. High temperature will destroy galvanized finish and affect steel mechanical property. Screw fastening is preferred installation method.
