Mesh count directly affects fiber retention and dehydration speed. Low mesh count (60-80 mesh) is used for newsprint and boxboard paper for quick dehydration. Medium to high mesh count (90-120 mesh) is used for cultural and printing paper for good fiber retention. High mesh count (120+ mesh) is used for special and filter paper for fine filtration.

The most commonly used is 304 stainless steel due to its good corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance, and moderate cost. It withstands acid, alkali, and humid environments. For more demanding environments like high chloride ion content, 316L material can be selected to enhance corrosion resistance.

It offers a longer service life as it is wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, lasting several times longer than polyester mesh. It provides higher stability with a low coefficient of thermal expansion and less deformation. It also ensures better paper quality with a smooth, seamless surface that reduces marks and improves uniformity.
