Q:What is the warranty period for the asphalt shingles?
A:
The warranty is normally 20-30 years, depending on whether a single layer (20 years) or double layer (30 years) is used.
Q:Does the color of the shingles fade over time?
A:
No, the color will not fade. We use CARLA (CL) natural stone chips from France which offer excellent weather resistance and protection against extreme UV.
Q:Is it necessary to install a waterproof membrane before the shingles?
A:
Yes, it is mandatory. You can choose between a self-adhesive waterproof membrane or a polymer PP/PE waterproof membrane.
Q:Why do self-adhesive shingles still require nails for fixing?
A:
Nails are needed to fix the shingles initially because the adhesive viscosity only increases when exposed to suitable temperatures and sunshine.
Q:What are the requirements for the roof angle during installation?
A:
The roof angle should ideally be more than 15 degrees. If below 15 degrees, shingles may arch up. Installation in gales should be avoided.
