Q:How to handle different ink adhesion on various substrates?
A:
The S20 offers both UV ink and water based ink options, with adjustable droplet volumes from 5 to 18 pl. UV ink provides strong adhesion for smooth materials like film, PVC, and PET; water based ink works best on absorbent materials like offset and coated paper. A packaging plant switching between PVC labels and coated paper chose UV ink for PVC and water based ink for paper both achieved 5B adhesion rating and passed 100 rub tests without fading.
Q:What if print format compatibility causes extra file conversion time?
A:
The S20 supports direct import of PDF, TIFF, and BMP formats no additional conversion software needed. A label factory used to receive files in both PDF and TIFF from clients and had to convert everything to JPG before processing, taking 20 minutes per order. With the S20, they simply drag the original files into the system and print directly, cutting file preparation time to just 2 minutes per order.
Q:We frequently switch between different label designs. Can we avoid plate making and long changeover times?
A:
Yes. The S20 series uses plateless digital printing no plates needed. Changeover is as simple as loading a new print file in PDF, TIFF, or BMP format. A label converter used to spend 2 hours per changeover for plate making and setup. With the S20, they now complete a design switch in just 5 minutes, reducing downtime and making short-run orders profitable.
