Mattress Fabric CNC Cutting Machine with Oscillating Blade

An oscillating knife cutting machine is a CNC cutting system in which the tool head oscillates vertically at high frequency while moving along the X/Y axes, cutting part outlines directly from digital drawings. No molds are required and design changes cost nothing.

It is designed for non-metal flexible and semi-rigid materials, including leather and synthetic leather, woven and non-woven fabrics, EVA/EPE foam and sponge, rubber and asbestos gaskets, corrugated and honeycomb board, white cardboard, PP hollow board, PVC/KT board, carpet and floor mats, acoustic felt, and carbon/glass fiber composites.

Garment manufacturing, footwear, luggage and bags, automotive interiors and seats, upholstered furniture, composites (carbon/glass fiber prepreg), advertising and packaging, gaskets and seals, carpet and floor mats, and marine/aviation interiors.

An oscillating knife cuts purely by physical force: no burnt smell, no smoke, no carbonized edges, clean cut edges, no heat-affected zone, low maintenance (no laser tube) and multi-layer capability. Its limitation is that it only cuts non-metal flexible materials. Laser cutting is faster and handles metal, hard materials and engraving, but generates smoke and odor, can char or curl edges, may melt thin soft materials at high speed, and the laser tube needs water cooling and periodic replacement.

An oscillating knife machine cuts flexible materials quickly, produces no dust and needs no coolant. A CNC router (milling) suits hard sheets for grooving and engraving. Rule of thumb: soft/flexible materials go to the oscillating knife, hard sheets go to the router.
