It is divided into thin-phase conveying (low pressure, low material-gas ratio), medium-phase conveying, and dense-phase conveying (high pressure, low gas velocity, high material-gas ratio).

The air source equipment is installed at the end of the system. The fan creates negative pressure, sucking air and material into the pipe. Material is separated in the separator, discharged by a rotary valve, and air is purified by a dust collector before being discharged.

In pressure-fed systems, the air supply unit is at the front, creating positive pressure. Material enters via a sealed pressure feeder unit and is transported by compressed air. Suction systems use negative pressure at the end to pull material.
