Q:Is this sheep wool or cashmere?

It is sheep wool (fine merino wool optional), not goat cashmere. Cashmere is a completely different and much higher-cost fiber. Please confirm your fiber requirement before placing an order so that the quotation matches the actual material.

Q:Is there any glue or adhesive in the batting?

No. The wool web is consolidated by needle-punched physical fiber entanglement only. There is no adhesive, no chemical binder and no formaldehyde, and the material is odor-free.

Q:Can the finished product be washed?

100% pure wool batting is prone to felting under aggressive washing. For washable end products we recommend the shrink-resistant (anti-felting) treated grade, or a wool+polyester / wool+cotton blended grade, which significantly improves wash resistance. Please tell us your washing requirement and we will recommend the right formulation.

Q:Will the wool fibers leak through the fabric, like down?

No. Needle-punched wool batting has no down-penetration problem, and it does not require down-proof fabric. Fibers are mechanically entangled and locked in place.

Q:Fluffy grade or compressed grade - which should I choose?

Choose the fluffy grade (3-25 mm) for maximum loft and warmth in quilt cores, mattress comfort layers and winter garments. Choose the heat-pressed compressed grade (1-8 mm) when you need a flat, uniform, high-tensile panel for automated quilting, thin garments, fitted covers or lamination with fabric and film.
