Unlike traditional dewatering equipment that uses filter cloths or meshes prone to blinding, this machine utilizes a filter cylinder formed by alternating fixed and moving rings through which a screw shaft runs. As the screw shaft rotates, it continuously drives the moving rings to displace slightly against the fixed rings. Oily, colloidal, and high-viscosity sludges easily clog and blind the filter cloths of belt presses or chamber filter presses, requiring intensive backwashing and frequent downtime. Because the volute screw press features a cloth-free design with swimming/moving rings that mechanically clear oil residues during operation, it possesses superior anti-oil pollution capabilities, allowing for uninterrupted solid-liquid separation.

Yes. The equipment features a built-in proprietary rotary disc pre-concentration device that is highly efficient at handling low-concentration sludge (ideally between 2,000 mg/L and 5,000 mg/L). It integrates flocculation, thickening, and dewatering into a single automated process, eliminating the need to construct costly gravity thickening tanks or storage systems, which also minimizes anaerobic odor generation.

The screw shaft runs at an ultra-low speed of 2-4 rpm. Its average power consumption is merely 1/8 that of a belt filter press and 1/20 of a centrifuge, with specific power at 0.01-0.1 kwh/kg-DS. Thanks to self-cleaning construction, flushing water demand is much lower, cutting plant operating costs substantially.

The machine continuously moves sludge from the thickening section into the high-pressure dewatering section, where the screw pitch and filter gaps gradually narrow to maximize expression. Following this pressing cycle, the moisture content of the discharged sludge cake is consistently reduced to a range of 75% to 85%, preparing it effectively for standard landfill or incineration processes.
