The sandblasting room is mainly used for surface cleaning, rust removal, removal of old coatings, and surface roughening of large, heavy, or irregular workpieces. Common applications include ship segmentation, bridge steel structures, wind turbine towers, storage tanks, large castings, engineering machinery components, etc. After sandblasting treatment, the surface cleanliness of the workpiece can reach Sa2.5 level, providing a good adhesion foundation for subsequent coating.

The sandblasting room uses compressed air to drive the abrasive, which is manually or mechanically operated through a spray gun, suitable for processing large and complex shaped workpieces. The shot blasting machine uses centrifugal force to eject pellets, with a high degree of automation, suitable for batch processing of small and medium-sized workpieces. The two have different principles and applicable scenarios.

The length, width, and height of the sandblasting room are customized according to the customer's maximum workpiece size and factory conditions. The general principle is that the workpiece needs sufficient operating space in the room, and the sandblasting worker can work around the workpiece. At the same time, factors such as vehicle entry and exit, ventilation and dust removal pipeline layout need to be considered.

Mechanical recycling uses screw conveyors and bucket elevators to recover abrasives, with a simple structure and low maintenance costs, suitable for medium to large sandblasting rooms. Pneumatic recycling utilizes negative pressure to suction abrasives into the separator, resulting in cleaner recycling and shallower pit requirements, making it suitable for occasions with high cleanliness requirements. Two methods can be chosen according to actual needs.

Most sandblasting rooms require digging a pit. The pit is used to install abrasive recovery systems (screw conveyors or pneumatic recovery pipelines). The depth of the pit is generally between 500 and 1000 millimeters. If the site does not have the conditions for digging a pit, a ground based recycling plan can also be designed, but the equipment cost and operating cost will vary. When selecting, you can confirm the specific plan with the manufacturer.
