A dual run capacitor supports two electric motors, one for the condenser fan and one for the compressor, combining two capacitors into one case to save space.
Q:How do I know when to replace the dual run AC capacitor?
A:
Replace it if the fan won't spin, the AC makes a humming sound without airflow, or the air conditioner stops cooling.
Q:Is the installation difficult?
A:
No, it is super easy. Simply shut off power, remove the old capacitor, and connect the new one to the terminals labeled Herm/H, Fan/F, and C without changing wiring.
Q:What is the difference between starting and running capacitors?
A:
Starting capacitors disconnect after the motor starts and have higher capacity (around 200uF), while running capacitors stay in operation during running and have lower capacity (20-30uF).
Q:Can I substitute a 440V capacitor for a 370V one?
A:
Yes, a 440V capacitor can replace a 370V one, but a 370V capacitor cannot replace a 440V one as it may fail prematurely due to voltage breakdown.
