Q:What motor types does SF850 series inverter support?

SF850 supports 3-phase asynchronous induction motor and permanent magnet synchronous motor. It can run under SVC sensor-less vector, FVC closed-loop vector and V/F control mode. Please complete motor auto-tuning for better performance, especially under vector control.

Q:What is the difference between G-model and P-model?

G (Heavy-duty): Constant-torque for heavy-load applications. Overload capacity:150% rated current for 60s, 180% for 3s. Suitable for machine tool, wire-drawing, textile machinery. P (Light-duty): Constant-power for fan / pump load. Overload capacity:120% rated current for 60s,150% for 3s. Suitable for fan, water pump, ventilation system.

Q:Does SF850 support communication? What field-bus options are available?

Standard built-in RS485 Modbus-RTU slave. Optional expansion cards support Profinet, EtherCAT. You need to order corresponding EM communication card separately. Communication parameters Pd-00~Pd-05 need correct setting.

Q:When do I need to install braking resistor / external braking unit?

1. Models not higher than 22kW have built-in braking unit, just connect external braking resistor. 2. For power above 30kW, you need external braking unit+braking resistor. 3. Required for high-inertia load, frequent deceleration, lifting/unwinding application. 4. Follow manual recommended resistance&power value for brake resistor.
