A 1x32 rack PLC splitter combines a PLC (Planar Lightwave Circuit) splitter chip with a standard rack-mount enclosure. It takes one input fiber and splits the optical signal evenly into 32 output ports, enabling one fiber to serve 32 end users.
Q:What does "insertion loss" mean, and why is a low value important?
A:
Insertion loss is the signal power lost when light passes through the splitter. Lower insertion loss means less signal degradation and a larger available power budget -- our 1x32 delivers typ--17.0 dB, which is among the industry's best for a 32-way split.
Q:Why is good uniformity important?
A:
Uniformity measures how evenly power is distributed among the 32 output ports. With typ. 1.0 dB uniformity, every port receives a consistent signal level, avoiding weak end users in FTTH networks.
Q:Which adapter interfaces are available?
A:
SC and FC are standard options; other adapter types are available on request.
Q:What fiber type and cable length are offered?
A:
Standard fiber is SMF-28; other fiber types can be supplied on request. Standard fiber length is 1.2 m, and customized lengths are available.
