Mmo Titanium Anode for Desalinating Seawater

Ruthenium-Iridium (Ru-Ir) coating is the exclusive standard for seawater desalination. Seawater is high-chloride saltwater, and Ru-Ir coating has ultra-low chlorine evolution potential and strong resistance to chloride corrosion. It can operate stably in seawater for a long time with low energy consumption. Ir-Ta oxygen-evolving coating is not suitable for seawater environments, which will cause high power consumption and rapid coating failure.

Expanded titanium mesh anode is the first choice for most seawater desalination stacks. The mesh structure ensures smooth seawater flow, accelerates bubble discharge, reduces operating voltage, and improves desalination and antifouling efficiency. Solid plate anodes are suitable for small precision desalination test equipment with uniform current distribution requirements.

Pure titanium without coating will passivate rapidly in high-chloride seawater, leading to increased voltage and failure of desalination system. MMO Ru-Ir coating maintains continuous electrochemical activity, effectively prevents seawater corrosion and electrode passivation, and ensures long-term stable operation of desalination equipment.

Under standard continuous seawater desalination working conditions, the service life is 5-10 years. Stable low current density and clean seawater quality can further extend the service life, which is 3-5 times longer than traditional electrodes.
