Impact Resistant Epoxy Zinc Rich Primer for Mining Steel Equipment with Tough Coating

It is a corrosion-protective base coat applied directly to steel substrates -- structural steel, storage tanks, petrochemical plants, bridges, offshore and port structures. It provides the first line of defense against rust under a full coating system.

For best cathodic performance, the steel surface should be blast-cleaned to a near-white/white metal standard (Sa 2.5 / SSPC-SP10) with a sharp angular profile, free of oil, grease, rust and mill scale. The primer must be applied within the window specified in the PDS before flash rusting occurs.

Typical DFT is 60 um per coat, based on the product's 68% volume solids. Higher zinc content and DFT improve cathodic protection; follow the technical data sheet for the exact specification of your exposure class.

It pairs well with epoxy, polyurethane and fluoropolymer (PVDF/FEL) topcoats. It can also be over-coated with suitable intermediate coats in multi-layer heavy-duty systems.

Store unopened drums in a cool, dry, covered warehouse away from direct sunlight and heat sources. When stored properly, the typical shelf life is 12 months from the date of manufacture. After opening, seal tightly and use as soon as possible; stir thoroughly before use. Always refer to the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for handling and ventilation requirements.
