A: A zinc rich primer contains high zinc dust content that makes the coating conductive, providing cathodic protection to the steel substrate - if the film is scratched, the zinc sacrifices itself instead of the steel. This is stronger protection than conventional organic primers. It is also called zinc rich coating or zinc rich paint.
