Q:Does it work with solar panels, and what is the MPPT specification?

It has a built-in 120A MPPT solar charger with 9000W maximum PV input power. The MPPT voltage range is 60-500VDC, the maximum PV open circuit voltage is 500VDC, and the max solar input current is 27A.

Q:What battery does it need?

It needs an external 48VDC lithium battery, which is not included with the inverter. Float charge voltage is 54VDC and overcharge protection is at 63VDC. The battery can be activated by PV or utility, and lithium battery communication is supported over RS485.
