Q:Price difference between galvanized and regular channel?
A:
Galvanized channel costs about RMB 800-1200/tonne more (galvanizing fee). But galvanized has 20-30 year anti-corrosion life, 3-5 times painted, lower lifecycle cost. Outdoor, humid, grounding corrosive environments must use galvanized; indoor dry can use regular with paint.
Q:How to handle welding after galvanizing?
A:
Welding damages local zinc layer, after welding must: 1) Clean slag and spatter; 2) Apply two coats zinc-rich primer (zinc >=92%); 3) Apply galvanizing repair compound or silver paint. Repaired area corrosion performance should match overall zinc layer.
Q:Zinc coating thickness standard?
A:
Per GB/T 13912, steel >=6mm thick average zinc >=85um, <6mm average >=70um. Channel common thickness 4-10mm, generally requires average >=65um. We spot check with magnetic gauge at delivery, provide inspection report.
Q:Can custom cut?
A:
Yes, standard 6m/9m, special up to 12m. Recommend cut, drill, weld first then galvanize as whole, so cut surfaces and holes also have zinc protection.
Q:MOQ and lead time?
A:
Stock 1 tonne MOQ 3-7 days, galvanizing required 3 tonnes MOQ 7-15 days. Large orders can lock galvanizing capacity for batch delivery.
