Q:Price difference between galvanized and regular I-beam?

Galvanized I-beam costs about RMB 800-1200/tonne more (galvanizing fee), depending on size and zinc requirements. But galvanized lasts 3-5 times longer, lower lifecycle cost. Recommend galvanizing for outdoor projects.

Q:How to handle welding after galvanizing?

Welding damages local zinc layer; after welding, clean slag and spatter with angle grinder, then apply two coats of zinc-rich primer (zinc >=92%), then galvanizing repair compound or silver paint. Repaired area corrosion performance should match overall zinc layer.

Q:How is zinc thickness guaranteed?

Per GB/T 13912, for steel >=6mm thick, average zinc >=85um. We spot check each batch with magnetic gauge, 5 points per member averaged, provide inspection report at delivery.

Q:Can custom cut to length?

Yes. Standard 6m, 9m, 12m, special up to 15m. Recommend cut and drill first, then galvanize as whole, so cut surfaces and holes also have zinc protection.
