Equal angle specified by side width x side width x thickness (mm), e.g., 50x50x5 means 50mm side width, 5mm thickness. Also by size number, e.g., #5 means 50mm side width (same size has different thicknesses, #5x3, #5x4, #5x5, #5x6). Common sizes: #20-#200.

Q:How to calculate weight?

Equal angle weight (kg/m) = 0.00785 x [d x (2b-d) + 0.215 x (r2-2r12)], simplified approx 0.00785 x d x (2b-d). Example 50x50x5 approx 0.00785 x 5 x (100-5) = 3.73 kg/m (actual 3.77 kg/m).
