Q:What is the core difference between WEST P4170 and ordinary temperature controllers?
A:
P4170 is a dedicated VMD valve motor drive controller, supporting open-loop valve control without valve position feedback. It has exclusive anti-oscillation auto-tune algorithm to reduce valve wear, specially designed for electric heating furnaces, boilers, drying ovens with motorized valves.
Q:What sensor signals does WEST P4170 support?
A:
Universal jumperless input: All thermocouples (K/J/R/S/T/B/N/L), 3-wire PT100 RTD, DC linear signals 4-20mA, 0-10V, 0-50mV. No hardware jumper modification, just select sensor type via menu.
Q:What is the mounting size of P4170?
A:
Standard 1/4 DIN panel cutout (92*45mm), compatible with most old temperature controllers, no cabinet modification needed for replacement.
Q:Does P4170 support Modbus RS485 communication?
A:
Yes, RS485 Modbus RTU is optional module. It can connect with PLC or HMI for remote parameter modification and temperature monitoring. It also supports offline PC parameter copy without communication card.
Q:Can P4170 switch auto/manual mode without temperature fluctuation?
A:
It adopts bumpless auto/manual transfer function. Switch via front panel button or digital input, no sudden temperature jump to protect production process.
