Cold Rolled 304 Stainless Steel Coil for Industrial Metal Processing

The key difference is carbon content. 304 has 0.08% max C, while 304L has 0.030% max C (L means Low carbon). This makes 304L better for welded assemblies, as it resists intergranular corrosion in the heat-affected zone without requiring post-weld annealing. For non-welded or general-purpose use, 304 is typically more cost-effective.

2B is a cold-rolled, annealed, pickled and lightly skin-passed finish. After cold rolling, the strip is annealed in a protective atmosphere, pickled to remove scale, and passed through polished rollers with slight pressure. The result is a smooth, moderately reflective gray surface, the most common industrial finish for stainless steel coil.

2B is often used as-is for industrial applications such as tanks, piping and enclosures. It is also the standard base surface for further finishing like No.4 (brushed), HL (hairline), BA (bright annealed) or 8K (mirror). If you need a decorative finish, 2B is the correct starting point.

Standard cold-rolled 2B coil ranges from 0.3mm to 3.0mm in thickness and 600mm to 1550mm in width. Popular stock sizes include 0.5/0.8/1.0/1.2/1.5/2.0mm x 1219mm. Custom thicknesses and widths are available upon request.

Yes. We offer in-house slitting to any width from approx. 20mm up to 1550mm, with burr control 0.05mm. Cut-to-length sheets are available from coil in lengths up to 6000mm, with flatness 3mm/m. PVC coating (single or double side, 50-120 microns) is optional.
