A:
This may be related to the processing temperature, screw shear conditions, stabiliser system, the amount of processing aids used, and the CPVC resin grade. It is recommended to readjust the plasticisation temperature and the proportion of processing aids according to the resin grade, and to check the uniformity of mixing.
Q:What causes discolouration or yellowing in CPVC products?
A:
This is usually related to excessively high processing temperatures, excessive residence time, insufficient thermal stabilisers, or localised overheating. It is recommended to check the equipment's temperature control, material residence time and the stabiliser system.
Q:What should be done if CPVC pipes exhibit insufficient impact resistance?
A:
This may be related to the type and dosage of impact modifiers, the grade of CPVC resin, the degree of plasticisation, and the formulation ratios. Impact modification systems such as CPE and MBS can be optimised according to product requirements. Please contact us for assistance in selecting a more suitable CPVC resin.
Q:Why is it necessary to control the processing temperature for CPVC compounds?
A:
CPVC has relatively high processing temperature requirements, whilst its thermal stability window is relatively limited. If the temperature is too low, insufficient plasticisation may occur; if it is too high, the resin may degrade. Therefore, during production, it is necessary to maintain plasticisation, flow properties and thermal stability within an appropriate range.
