This hardware set converts a coffee table top into a surface that can be lifted and pulled forward. The kit includes two folding hinge units and two support bars.
Each hinge is built from several linked steel bars with multiple pivot points. The parts collapse flat for shipping and open into a firm angled frame.
Two coil springs attach to the hinge assembly to give tension while the top is raised. The springs help hold the tabletop in its open position.
Pre-drilled holes on the plates and brackets let the mechanism be fixed to the table frame and to the underside of the tabletop. Wood screws are used at each mounting point.
The frame parts have a matte black coated finish while the springs stay bright plated. This mechanism is sized for living room tables placed in front of a sofa.
