This hinge mechanism allows a sofa headrest, armrest or backrest to be set at different angles. It is built from heavy steel so it can carry the load of the moving part.
The upper section is a multi layer bracket drilled with several round holes of different sizes. The bracket is screwed to the internal frame of the furniture.
A large circular joint forms the center of the mechanism and holds the locking teeth of the hinge. The rod below the joint rotates in set steps as the part is moved.
Each step clicks into place so the selected angle is held while the furniture is in use. Moving the part past its last position resets the hinge for return.
Polished metal plating gives the mechanism a clean finish and protects it from rust. Both units of a pair work together to keep the two sides level.
