A cold-rolled silicon steel with randomly distributed grain orientation, giving near-uniform magnetic properties in every direction. Used for laminated cores in rotating machines (motors, generators, compressors), unlike grain-oriented steel which is used mainly in transformer cores.

Q:How do I read a grade code like B50A470?

B: cold-rolled electrical steel; 50: nominal thickness (mm)*100, i.e. 0.50mm; A: series type (A/AH/AR); 470: max core loss P1.5/50 (W/kg)*100, i.e. 4.70 W/kg.

Q:What's the difference between A, AH and AR series?

A: conventional, broadest coverage. AH: lower core loss at same thickness, for higher -efficiency motors. AR: stress-relief annealing type; guaranteed values apply only after a 2-hour anneal at 750 degree in neutral atmosphere.

Q:What thickness and width options are available?
