Q:Q1. Is your meter MID certified for EU billing?
A:
Yes. Our three-phase DIN rail meters are MID certified under EU Directive 2014/32/EU (Module B). Certificate No. 0598/MID/B/24/041, issued by SGS Fimko OY (notified body 0598), valid until 2034-05-19. It covers the SXY88D-SH and SXY88D-SJ models (RS485 / Modbus RTU). PDF copy on request.
Q:Q2. RS485 or M-Bus - which should I choose?
A:
Both interfaces run on the same meter platform. Choose RS485 (Modbus RTU) if you already run a PLC, SCADA, or EMS system. Choose M-Bus (EN 13757) if you need long-distance, multi-point reading where the bus also powers the meters. Both support addresses 1-250 and distances of 1000 m or more.
Q:Q3. What's the difference between SH and SJ?
A:
Both are 3x230/400 V, 0.5-10(80) A three-phase direct-input meters on one hardware platform. The difference is firmware: SXY88D-SH measures forward (import) energy only; SXY88D-SJ measures both import and export energy, for solar PV and storage. Both have 1x S0 pulse and E1/E2 tariff terminals.
Q:Q4. Can you offer the Modbus register map / protocol?
A:
Yes. We provide the full Modbus RTU register map, communication protocol description, and wiring diagrams for our RS485 models. Documents are free of charge after a brief confirmation of your application, and can be sent under NDA if required.
Q:Q5. How do the E1/E2 tariff terminals work?
A:
The E1/E2 terminals are dual-tariff switching inputs, accepting a 220-230 V AC, 50 Hz signal from an external source (time switch, relay, or upstream meter). No signal = Tariff T1 (default); 220 V applied = switch to Tariff T2 at once. Inputs only sense voltage and carry no metering load.
